It’s clear that the announcement of the Thomson Discovery was like a breath of fresh air, as there is no denying that the cruise line is in need of an overhaul of its fleet. The current cruise ships are showing signs of age, especially Celebration, which we recently sailed on and while the public areas were nice, the same cannot be said for many of the cabins.
We only knew very little about the new Thomson Cruises ship, and so these fresh new Thomson Discovery details are very welcome indeed. Information has now been shared on its dining options, the design and also the entertainment.
There are eight Thomson Discovery dining options, two of which are Snack Shack and Gallery 47°. These are new signature restaurants, but we do hope prices are cheaper than on their current ships, as they are more than £15 each, which is far more expensive than P&O.
Snack Shack will be on the pool deck, with Gallery 47° being in the upstairs part of the main restaurant. Even though the ship will soon be 20 years old, it will receive an all-new design to bring it right up-to-date with all areas of the ship being refreshed. The PEEL Entertainment Group will also provide entertainment onboard.
