Carnival Corporation has announced that it is to have a major revamp of its satellite communications system by fitting the state-of-the-art WiFi@Sea system, to all ships across its many different brands, which also includes P&O Cruises.
There are to be three new P&O Cruises Internet packages that bump Wi-Fi capability, along with Internet bandwidth. This new system has already proven popular across some ships, such as those in the Holland America fleet.
We don’t yet have a date on when these improvements will be made to the P&O Cruises Internet packages, but we know that 40 percent of the work will be completed in 2015, with the rest being finished in 2016.
Like we said above, there are to be three flat rate packages, and these are Social, so you can just go on a choice of eight social media sites, and that is it. Enhanced, which gives you increased broadband usage, and finally, Premiere, giving you access to most things, including the ability to stream music and also video chat.
Carnival has yet to share the new price plan for Carnival Cruises, but to give you a general idea the charges on Holland America are Social costs $5 per day or $25 for the week, Enhanced, $16 and $60 and finally, Premiere has a price of $25 for 24 hours or $99 for 7 days.
