With cruising becoming even more popular, the current line of cruise ships will start to show signs of age sooner than ever before. This is because more people will be travelling on them, and so the ships will experience more wear and tear.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s refit planner for 2015 consists of two ships, the Epic and Gem. The Norwegian Epic refit is due to begin this month, September, while the Gem refurbishment is set to start in October.
The Norwegian Epic changes will bring with it a number of new entertainment options, such as The Cavern Club that will bring new music inspired by the Beatles. Several other features of the ship will also be improved.
However, the Norwegian Gem refit will be more extensive seeing as though she is an older ship, and so some of her public areas and cabins are beginning to look a little tired.
Some of the Norwegian Gem changes we can expect to see once she goes for her refit are all Penthouse Suites, as well as the Horizon and Observation lounges will be redecorated. Deck 11 will also see some new furniture added, and O’Sheehan’s Bar & Grill will be coming to the ship.
The cruise line has also hinted that several new areas will be added to Gem, although they have not shared any other details.
