We have seen several new cruise ships launched this year, with just a few more left for 2015. These new ships vary in their size and design, but none seem to get more attention than those behemoth ones, such as the Oasis Class ships from Royal Caribbean.
These have been the largest cruise ships on the seas, but all that will soon change in a few years, as the new Costa cruise ships announced will offer the largest guest capacity.
Allure of the Seas is currently the largest cruise ship with a guest capacity of 4,400, but these two new Costa ships will beat that figure by 1,200, as they will hold 6,600 passengers each.
It’s not all about the size with these ships though, as the next generation of Costa Cruises ships will come with features aimed at making them as green as can be for their size.
These ships will use Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), to help reduce emissions, which is very important when dealing with ships of this size. When it comes down to the other features this new class of Costa Cruises ship will incorporate, we have yet to find this out, although we will keep you up-to-date once new details are released.
