Some people may say that Queen Mary 2 does not really need a refurbishment, but that is not the opinion of all those that have sailed on her. No matter what, it was reported last week that Cunard is to give Queen Mary 2 a refit, which is due to start in May 2016.
The list of Queen Mary 2 refit improvements for the second half of 2016 is not an extensive one, although the addition of more single staterooms to accommodate a growing number of single cruisers, and also an increased number of kennels for those of you that travel with their pets will go down well with many of you.
There are to be 15 new single staterooms added to cater for increased demand. Cunard is to also add 30 new Britannia Club Balcony cabins, which gives them access to the Britannia Club Restaurant, which is to also be extending during the refit.
Going back to those kennels, there are to be ten extra ones created, which will take the total number to 22 for dogs and cats. This will hopefully make things a lot easier for passengers that do not like the idea of going away for too long without seeing their pet cat or dog.
As for the other changes, Cunard has not highlighted these, although we are sure more details will become available nearer the time. The refit is to begin on May 27 and will end on June 21, 2016.
