Most cruise lines have their very own loyalty schemes to reward only the most loyal of customers, with MSC Cruises being one of them. However, a revamp of its scheme looks set to test those currently signed up. MSC Voyagers Club replaces MSC Club and one of the biggest changes is how it rewards people by experience booked and not the number of nights.
There is a raft of changes, but it is that one above that has been getting a lot of attention, and not positive either. Another feature not going down too well is the MSC discount tiers, as this has now been reduced to a flat 5 per cent rather than up to 20 per cent on an MSC cruise.
These changes will not go live until July 19, and we have already learned from Cruise Critic that Black card members feel that losing their 20% discount is a bit of a tough pill to swallow.
However, MSC Cruises believe that the other benefits more than outweighs the negatives, although this will surely not be the case for those that built up such a nice discount.
As for those changes brought in with the new MSC Voyagers Club, these are no age limit, a new welcome tier level, a new points earning system, a loyalty card built into your cruise card and onboard promotions.
What do you think of this rebranded loyalty scheme?
