There is not too long to go before Anthem of the Seas begins her maiden voyage, and yet Royal Caribbean seems to have left it so long to announce the Godmother of its new ship. Thankfully, they have now done so, and it is not a celebrity, or even a royal, as P&O Britannia has.
Anthem of the Seas Godmother has now been named and it is travel agent Emma Wilby, aged 27 from Sunderland, U.K. She was just one of many thousands of people that entered a competition in order to christen the new ship at Southampton on April 20, 2015.
Wilby will not only be there to christen the new ship from Royal Caribbean, but is to also perform a song, which Cruise Critic says she is very excited about. However, she is currently undergoing vocal training by British choir group Only Boys Aloud team captain Craig Yates.
The cruise ship company said they had huge interest from UK travel agents, and the decision process was a tough one, although feel they have made the perfect choice.
RCI’s new ship Anthem of the Seas might be for the UK cruise market for now, but she is a very different ship to P&O Britannia.
