Well, today it finally happened, the launch and naming ceremony of the P&O Britannia, and in what was a great day of celebrations, you either have the choice of watching the events unfold in their entirety in the first video below, or by watching just those best moments from Britannia’s naming celebrations.
The way in which you can do the latter is by heading over to the P&O Facebook page, where it has a video of some of those best moments. There were some really great moments, although those that stood out to us were Rob Brydon’s speech, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers set, some wonderful ballroom dancing and last but not least, Queen Elizabeth II naming the ship.
It’s such a shame that the Queen never got to name Britannia prior to her launch like what used to happen years ago, although at least she still named her, which is something she rarely does these days.
We do hope that P&O has not caused an issue for itself down the line, because we know that Britannia will be full on every sailing for years to come, but with more cruises leaving from Southampton from Royal caribbean, these could be two factors that could see the other ships in P&O’s fleet struggle to fill up.
