It was around last year that a documentary featured on the BBC about the port of Southampton and what goes on behind the scenes. It was nice to gain some insight into life at the port, but many of our readers wondered when we would be able to see what life is like for cruise ship workers.
Thankfully, ITV will be able to answer that question for you, as a new four-part Cruise Ship documentary on Princess Cruises is to start on July 11th, 2014. The show starts at 8pm on consecutive Friday’s.
This isn’t a look at the entire cruise line, rather just the Royal Princess, which entered service in April 2013 by the Duchess of Cambridge. The footage was shot while the ship was sailing to the Caribbean, and so if you have ever wanted to complain about the service on this ship, maybe watching this documentary will give you an idea of just how tough it is for the crew that do their best to make your life as enjoyable as possible.
Providing the voiceover is John Thompson, who is better know for programs such as The Fast Show and Cold Feet.
The Cruise Ship ITV documentary could drum up more business, but only if viewers like what they see. Who knows, this could persuade holidaymakers who usually go on beach holidays to finally give cruising a go, as you do not know what you are missing.
