Way back in April of last year we reported on the refurbishment of the Adventure of the Seas, which was scheduled to begin in January 2014. However, Royal Caribbean did not waste much time in pushing things back so the Adventure of the Seas refit takes place in April.
Seeing as though one of our colleagues is set to sail on her in August we thought we would take another look just to remind you of the changes that will take place on this old, yet lovely ship – well her first voyage was back in 2001.
Don’t let anything like that put you off because she still has plenty of years left in her and these planned changes will help give the ship a new lease of life, within reason of course.
The Adventure of the Seas refit is to start in early April once she has completed her final Caribbean cruise of the season.
Planned Adventure of the Seas changes – The first change that we would like to highlight and is part of the ‘Royal Advantage’ overhaul, are upgrades to the Royal Babies and Tots Nursery. Once this area has been revamped it will be a much better environment for your children to play in. There will be interactive play sessions, which is perfect for developing young minds.
Another of the planned upgrades is to the pool area, as there will now be a new outdoor movie screen, allowing passengers to watch movies in the daytime or evening. That’s not all; major sporting events will also be shown on the big outdoor screen.
The Cupcake Cupboard will now find its way onboard the Adventure of the Seas, which means you will be able to enjoy freshly baked cupcakes all day. Kids and adults can even have some fun by taking part in decorating classes.
Our colleague will be pleased that the Adventure of the Seas will now have improved Wi-Fi throughout the ship, as well as bring interactive TV to all staterooms.
Finally, the ship will get a general refresh to staterooms, restaurants, bars and other public areas. Once the refit is complete the Adventure of the Seas will start her 2014 summer season in the UK.
