Best cruise ships for exercise, perfect 2014 resolution

With another year almost behind us it is that time of the year where we look back at what we have achieved and what we would like to change. We all love to think about a New Year’s resolution, but putting them into practice is another story, such as getting more exercise.

Staying fit is great, but for most of us there is no fun in it, but what if there was? This is where a cruise comes in because not only can you eat very well and have fun, but you can also stay rather fit as well. However, this is not the case with all cruises, and so you need to make certain that you pick the correct one.

Most cruise ships have their own gym and spa, but a few stand out more than others. The thing is, you need to make certain that they have a decent choice of equipment, an inviting area and more importantly, trainers that are willing to help when needed.

USA Today understand that now is the time when many of you will think about booking a crusie for 2014, and so have listed what they believe to be the best cruise ships for exercise. However, they do maintain that you will need to help yourself by not getting tempted by a lot of the food in each restaurant and try and stick to a balanced diet.

We know it could spoil your holiday, but then we would say if you plan to indulge yourself, then just workout a little harder.

All the gyms on cruise ships are free to use and the Norwegian Epic stands out in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet because it offers all of what its other ships does, but also includes TRX Suspension training, an interactive Nexersys workout and Black-Light Spinning classes.

As for Royal Caribbean, most of their ships offer the same level of exercise opportunities, although only a few of their ships has the Kinesis Wall, which looks as though its sole purpose is to break you.

Carnival Breeze, Magic and Sunshine have the SportSquare, which is a mix of outdoor weightlifting and exercise machines, a jogging track and much more, which gives you a greater sense of achievement because you are doing your routine in the fresh air.

Most of the big cruise lines have state-of-the-art exercise facilities onboard, but only some of them truly stand out, and so see the best of the best from our source above.
