Land Discoveries Tours by Azamara Club Cruises

Azamara Club Cruises utilises their social channels well by enticing cruise goers with new deals, destinations, excursions and photos teasing places to visit. Most recently we have seen a number of pictures uploaded to the Azamara Club Cruises Facebook page and Twitter account, which ask where the particular photo was taken.

Today, we noticed a new video uploaded to the YouTube channel for Azamara Club Cruises. The video landed within the last couple of days and focuses on Land Discoveries Tours with a visual explanation of what this service is, and why you should visit a store to learn more about these land tours.

We have embedded the under one-minute video below this article for Cruise Ship News readers, although a lot more insight can be taken from this page on In a nutshell, Land Discoveries Tours are basically the cruise lines version of excursions and described as the best way to learn about local culture in every port.

At the time of writing we notice that Azamara will give you a free shore excursion at every port when you book a 2014 Mediterranean cruise. You should note that this is for selected voyages, so you might want to learn what cruises and ships via the above link.

I went on a number of land discoveries during a 23 night back-to-back itinerary on the Azamara Journey between Mumbai and Singapore, including extensive excursions in Sri Lanka and Myanmar, in addition to Indian ports. I think overall they did an excellent job and this was particularly true when the Azamara staff member accompanying the tour was Alan Yau, who otherwise manages the onboard casino operation. Wherever possible, Azamara picks its excursion suppliers carefully and holds them to high standards.
