It wasn’t that long ago when we compared the P&O Britannia cruise ship against Quantum of the Seas, and it was very clear which one we expected to have more innovate features. This would also be the same for Anthem of the Seas, but it seems more fitting to look at these two ships seeing as though their homeports will be Southampton – well not the winter for Anthem.
Both P&O Britannia and Anthem of the Seas will enter service in 2015 and it will be interesting to know which of the two cruise ship companies show their hand and release the itineraries, as well as who will start to take booking first?
We can’t wait to see what places each ship will visit and how much they will change, but for now we have to guess. We already know that Britannia will visit many of the places Azura does, and likewise for Anthem, as she will pretty much replicate Independence of the Seas, or so we assume.
We believe both companies will start to take bookings early next year, as this would be the same sort of timescale Royal Caribbean did with Quantum of the Seas. With a bit of luck bookings will begin in April 2014, which is usually when most cruise ship companies print off their new brochures.
The question we would like to know is, which of the two ships would you rather book a cruise on and why?
