We’ve all seen the devastation left by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, which has claimed around 10,000 lives and destroyed many homes. As you may know, the suffering does not stop there because those who were spared now have to face these next few days, weeks and months without a home, and will struggle to find food.
There is now a huge effort to help ease the suffering and bring food and aid to the Philippines, and we have already seen many organizations setting up funds. Even cruise lines are helping out because we know that many of these cruise lines employee people from that region.
It is for this very reason why we have seen a few of the cruise lines offer their own contributions to the Philippines typhoon relief effort. Norwegian Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa cruises and Fred. Olsen are all trying to raise awareness, and money at the same time.
It is the hope that cruisers would like to donate money to help the ship crew and their family. The cruise lines have been making huge efforts to help crewmembers get in touch with their family, as it was the not knowing that was hurting them the most.
Cruise Critic has offered a list of details for each cruise line mentioned above, and so we ask for you to head over to the website and then donate to the cruise line of your choosing. The money raised will go to help the crewmembers families affected by this natural disaster.
