It was way back in May when we informed you that Royal Caribbean was to have a float at the 87th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and its upcoming ship the Quantum of the Seas will feature heavily in the design. Today, the cruise line has offered more details and an image of the float that will form part of the lineup.
The float is to be called A World at Sea and has been designed by the Macy’s Parade Studio, as well as input for Royal Caribbean. Those of you who have sailed with the cruise line will recognize three key features on the float taken from its ships, and that is the FlowRider, the zip line and also the rock climbing at the rear of several of the ships.
There is to also be a supreme performance to help celebrate the Quantum of the Seas, which will set sail in a year from now, although Royal Caribbean has yet to announce what that special surprise will be. We have to wonder if it could include a performance from Kristin Chenoweth, who as we know is the godmother to the ship, and a huge star of Broadway.
The 87th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place on November 28, 2013, which is just one day before the Black Friday sales, so it will be a long day for some people, as they will want to head to New York to catch the event, but also get home in time and ready to go to your local store to take advantage of some door busters.
