When Norwegian Cruise Line designed the Breakaway, they must have known she had what it takes to win several awards? We say this because the ship has already been a hit with passengers, and as such has now been voted the Best New Ship 2013 in the Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards.
Winning this award is no easy task because there are some great cruise ships sailing our oceans, and so the editors had to choose from around 400 ships from 75 cruise lines. However, there are not that many that look as good or do it as well as the Norwegian Breakaway.
Looking at a recent Norwegian Breakaway review we can see that the ship is loved by 67 percent of cruisers, which is a rather high number. However, there were other awards where the Breakaway was not able to excel.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has done well over the years for Best Entertainment, and they have done it again for 2013. Disney Cruise Line did very well by taking away two awards, Best for Families and Best Shore Excursions. We are sure they are more excited about the former award, as this is their area of expertise.
It seems as though P&O need to up its game, as they didn’t win a single award, although that could change in a few years with the launch of the Britannia.
