Carnival Cruise Lines itinerary change for 2014

Carnival Cruise Lines itinerary change for 2014

If you have been looking into Carnival Cruise Lines 2014 itinerary and were looking forward to visiting Tortola, then we have some bad news for year. From next June the company is dropping the British Virgin Island for ten months, which means this will also not appear on almost half the 2015 itinerary either.

Carnival was due to send five ships to Tortola from June 2014 to April 2015. The reason is out of the cruise lines hands, as work will be carried out on the cruise ship dock for most of 2014, and as such would mean ships would have to tender, which is not good news for many passengers.

The other reason is that the Tortola government cannot guarantee if Carnival ships will be able to call in the dock, even though the Government had already given them reservations.

Those of you who have booked a 2013 Carnival cruise and were due to call in at Tortola, then you will be notified shortly with details of the alternative ports.

We do worry that this could affect tourism in Tortola because they rely heavily on cruise ships. However, improving the dock is a necessary step in securing its future.
