At the end of August the Celebrity Millennium saw a few of its cruises cancelled because of an issue with one of its pods. Thankfully she is back in service and is now being enjoyed by some happy passengers, but spare a thought for those who had theirs cancelled.
Passengers were told they would get a full refund, and 25 percent credit towards a future cruise, but it is not a happy ending for some. This is because some people can only take their vacation at certain times of the year, and so have tried to book a new Celebrity Millennium cruise for 2014 around the same time.
Some people are finding that when they try to rebook the same cruise for the following year there is significant price increase, because in some cases it could cost $2,500 more. While we do not have confirmation of this, one Celebrity guest has taken to the cruise company’s Facebook page to air their anger.
That’s not all, because the 25 percent credit only applies to one of the three weeks. Some of you might already know about Celebrity Cruises cancellation policy, but for those who do not, then the company should have made this clear from the start.
As for the Celebrity Millennium price increase for 2014, the company should make certain they offer the same cruise for the following year at the 2013 price for those who had theirs cancelled.
Some of you might say just choose a different cruise company because they would find a cheaper price, but as they will not get a refund on their airfare they are stuck with Celebrity Cruises.
