When the news broke that Clive Palmer was to enter a new venture that would see him build the new Titanic 2 ship, it was obvious that some people would question his motives. At first it seemed pretty straightforward, he wanted to get right what went wrong all those years ago.
However, a recent event has put a little black mark over this project now because of what looks to be a questionable Titanic 2 marketing campaign. It is not sure if Palmer wanted to promote the building of the new cruise liner or to help persuade people to back his party, the Palmer United Party, but people have taken to Twitter to vent their anger.
We have learned from SBS News that the Palmer United Party has been giving out new campaign material and within that they are giving away a free DVD to promote the Titanic 2 project.
Palmer was asked by SBS News about this latest marketing tactic, and he said the video has nothing to do with his polices or the campaign itself – so why do it in the first place?
It has also been reported that the flyers were printed in China, which is where the Titanic 2 cruise ship construction is to take place. One thing is for certain though, this is sure to generate more interest for the Palmer United Party.
What are your thoughts on this, do you think it is illegal to do such a thing, or is Palmer within his rights as an Australian citizen?
