Tropical Storm Ernesto affects Carnival / Disney cruise ships
Published on August 4th, 2012
If you have been following Tropical Storm Ernesto and also want to know how it is affecting some cruise lines, then we have a little update for you. We are hearing that both Carnival and Disney cruise ships have been affected from the storm, although other cruise lines might issue changes to their ports of call in the coming days.
Today we’ve heard numerous rumors that Disney is changing the itinerary for their Fantasy cruise ship, and some people believe that the itinerary will now include Eastern Caribbean instead of the planned Western Caribbean. We do find this hard to believe and would normally expect the cruise company to make minor changes, or at the most divert part of the cruise.
The Disney Fantasy left today so we’ll keep you updated on any changes that are officially announced, and for now take this as a wild rumor. We have contacted Disney for comment on any changes they plan to make in regard to Tropical Storm Ernesto.
Carnival Triumph left port Galveston today and has a few changes, which includes a trip to Cozumel on Monday (previously Progreso) and Progreso on Tuesday (previously Cozumel). The rest of Carnival Triumph’s schedule hasn’t changed, although we’ll update you if Carnival does change anything else.
Do you know anyone traveling on the Carnival Triumph or Disney Fantasy today? You can read about the projected path for Tropical Storm Ernesto here on the National Hurricane Center website.
