Dubai’s port operator DP World has announced that they plan to open a second cruise ship terminal in 2012 at the downtown Port Rashid. By building a second terminal they will be able to cater for five cruise ships at a time because at present their current terminal can only cater for two cruise ships.
In 2010 Dubai’s cruise terminal catered for around 120 cruise ships and more then 390,000-cruise passengers. By expanding their cruise port Dubai will attract more cruise ships to the city’s Persian Gulf shores, and of course more ships mean more tourists.
Dubai is one place that most people will say you should visit at least once in your lifetime. There are a number of fantastic onshore and even offshore attractions to explore including historical sites and man-made islands.
