Hurricane Rina affects Carnival Cruise Ships

Hurricane Rina that is currently heading towards resorts on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula is expected to become stronger according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center. This is the 17th storm of the 2011 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

This is not the first Hurricane that has affected cruise ships, as it was only a few weeks ago that we were reporting about Hurricane Jova, but we guess if you decide to cruise knowing there is a chance of a hurricane then you are going to expect cruise itineraries to change.

At present it seems that Carnival Cruise Lines are the only fleet affected by Rina and most of their ships have had to change their itineraries.

The Carnival Cruise ships affected are Carnival Inspiration, Freedom, Destiny, Legend, Valor, Liberty, Triumph and Carnival Imagination. Most of these ships will either be visiting Grand Cayman, Cozumel, or Grand Turk instead of their planed ports of call over the next few days.
