The wait is finally over, from today – Monday, October 17, 2011 – Norwegian Cruise Line’s will be opening their booking line for the Norwegian Breakaway to the public.
Norwegian Breakaway is the newest 4,000-passenger Freestyle Cruise ship in the Norwegian fleet and will be based out of New York on a year-round basis. The ship is currently being built at the Meyer Werft shipyards in Germany and will officially be launched in April 2013.
Reports say that the Norwegian Breakaway will begin with a seven-day Transatlantic cruise from Southampton UK to New York City on the 30th April 2013. Then this will be followed by her maiden voyage that is due to take place on the 12th May 2013 and this will follow a series of 22 seven-day cruises to Bermuda till the 6th October 2013.
Norwegian Breakaway is not the only new ship the company are releasing, as of the 14th April 2014 her sister ship called the Norwegian Getaway will make its debut. The Norwegian Breakaway is part of Project Breakaway, which is a series of new, mega ships from Norwegian Cruise Line.
Breakaway has a number of fantastic contemporary staterooms on offer including a 2-Bedroom Family Villa, Courtyard Penthouse both of which also has an exclusive key card access to The Haven, which is a fantastic relaxation place that includes a private restaurant, a cocktail bar and a concierge desk. Haven guests also have direct, private access to the ship’s spa and fitness Center.
