Royal Caribbean grows social media presence

To celebrate the launch of the new cruise community dedicated to all things Royal Caribbean International, fans of the new Facebook pages can win big prizes ranging from cruises to iPads by taking part in a specially created game inspired by a popular 80s arcade classic. Both the game and the Facebook presence has been developed and managed by Royal Caribbean International’s digital agency, Whisper.

The new ‘Pack More In’ game features a suitcase which when successfully navigated around a holiday-themed course, collects its friends and key holiday suitcase items in order to jump aboard a ship.

Players of the Royal Caribbean International Pack More In game can choose which Facebook friends to join them. The suitcase must then collect both the avatars of chosen Facebook friends, as well as essential holiday items. Players can earn bonus points by posting their scores onto their Facebook walls, and revisit the game each week throughout September to play versions of the game based on popular cruising destinations such as the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean and Middle East.

Simply collect points by moving through the different levels of each destination, and the highest scores will be posted to an overall leader board. For each destination map, the top six scores will win their holders prizes. Items on offer to win include Kindles, iPads, Antler ‘New Size Zero’ suitcases, Love2Shop vouchers, digital cameras and designer sunglasses.

The top 50 players who gain the highest scores on all four of the destination map versions of the game will be entered into a prize draw to win a cruise.

The new Pack More In game on the Royal Caribbean International UK Facebook page is an extension of the brand’s new £1 million autumn campaign encouraging holidaymakers to ‘pack more in’ to their cruise and reappraise their idea of what a cruise involves.
