Norwegian Spirit passenger rescued after falling overboard

On Sunday night a Norwegian Spirit cruise passenger was rescued after falling overboard only 3 hours into the start of the cruise.

Passengers are said to have immediately informed the crew that someone had gone overboard, and straightway the crew deployed a rescue boat and returned the passenger safely back to the ship. The ships doctor attended to the male passenger’s injuries before he was then transferred of the ship for further treatment. They are still currently trying to find out how the man ended up in the sea.

A spokesperson for the Norwegian cruise line said, “the passenger went over at approximately 8 p.m., some three hours after the ship departed from New Orleans.”

Norwegian Spirit can accommodate around 2,018 passengers and 948 crew-members. This ship has a number of great features including Buccaneer’s Wet & Wild, Maharajah’s Casino and the Roman Spa & Fitness Center and around 14 different dining options.
