In the very first Cruise Critic Cruisers Choice Awards, a number of well-deserved awards went to some fantastic ships. These awards were based on reviews received from past cruise passengers in 2010.
The awards were divided into three classes, small, mid sized and large, and were given to the top 10 ships in each class. Other awards were also given out in special categories, which include shore excursions and value-for-money.
Oasis of the Seas was voted the winner in the big ship class for being the best overall for international and UK passengers, closely followed by Celebrity Eclipse in second and Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas coming third.
Azamara Journey was voted the winner of the best small ship class and sister ship Azamara Quest finished second. The winner in the category the Best for Families went to Celebrity Eclipse closely followed by Oasis of the Seas, Norwegian Gem and P&Os Ventura.
In the mid-sized category Thomson Spirit came out on top. Fraser Ellacott who is the managing director for Thomson Cruises said “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award, which we believe is a great reflection of how highly our customers rate us, especially against a very comprehensive set of competitors. We pride ourselves on delivering great service, great value and great entertainment for our customers, and it shows we are achieving this on Thomson Spirit.”
