P&O’s cruise ship Oriana arrived back in Southampton after being damaged when it made contact with a corner of a pier in Kristiansand, Norway on Wednesday afternoon.
The ship, which had around 1,800 passengers on board at the time, had to return to its berth in Norway so that the captain and other officials could inspect the damage, which was a dent in the stern. No passengers were hurt and the ship was able to complete her journey back to Southampton.
Thomas Granfeldt who is the Port Authority operations manager said that the ship damaged a water pipe and an optical cable when it smashed into the pier. You can read more here.
