Cruise popularity is on the up

Reports this week have shown that cruising has become more popular than ever before with one in nine holiday makers opting for a cruise instead of a one destination holiday.

In 2010 Southampton was said to be the busiest cruise port in Northern Europe, with one in every three passengers on their first-ever cruise.

Figures have shown that cruising now gives the customer what they want in a holiday, from inclusive holidays, high standards, different destinations and lots for a family to do.

In 21012 there will be a number of great things happening in the cruise world. First of all you have Carnival Cruise Lines’ newest ship, called the Carnival Breeze, which is due to enter service in June 2012. On Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas there is a new West End show called Saturday Night Fever and this ship will also feature 3D movie technology.

Have you ever fancied a cruise down under? Well now this will be possible thanks to Holland America Line’s Oosterdam and Royal Caribbean’s Celebrity Solstice who will both be heading to Australia in 2012, which is said to be ideal place to cruise.
