When people book their first cruise, in most cases they visit a travel agent or compare prices with online travel stores but fail to realize when the best deals are available.
When we first booked our cruise we paid through the nose for a family of four, but after a few more cruises from Southampton under our belt, experience helped although wisdom would’ve been better. Most consumers are unaware of last minute cruise deals from Southampton, which tend to be the cheapest deals.
We booked one cruise 14-months in advance, only to recommend to a family member they should go just three days before we were leaving, they were lucky to get a room but even more to our surprise, the price was one third of what we paid. The reason was a guaranteed class of room but you had no idea where you would be on the cruise ship.
So booking last minute cruise holidays will not be for everyone, especially when you want only midship. If you can be more flexible then you could be in for a real treat when the price is concerned.
Have you booked a last minute cruise before, and if so, what deals have you seen? Royal Caribbean, P&O, and a number of popular cruise sites will help you with last minute deals but always read the small print.
