Crossing the Atlantic by cruise ship on the Celebrity Eclipse

Celebrity is the said to have the most stylish ships at sea and the Eclipse is no exception. This ship was launched in April 2010 and is the newest addition to Solstice Class. The Eclipse has 13 decks and can hold 2850 Passengers and 1250 crewmembers.

If you are new to cruising then this boat is the perfect start to an experience unlike any other type of holiday. One great thing about cruising has to be waking up in different destinations each morning.

There are a number of things that you need to make sure you do before you cruise, and that is make sure that the cruise ship is that right one for you. As like many cruises there will be a time that you are at sea for a few days and you need to know that you will have something to do until you reach your destination. The Eclipse has a number of great things to do from the Apple iLounge where you can learn about Apple products, to demonstrations, live lounge acts and even kids clubs for the younger generation. Or you might just like to sit and relax and take in all the views of the Atlantic Ocean. There is something for everyone on the Celebrity Eclipse.

In the spring, Celebrity Eclipse is based in Europe, and travels around some great destinations and in the winter the ship heads back to America. Dimitrios Manetas is one of the captain’s who sail the Eclipse, and I have personally had the pleasure to meeting him on the bridge. I have to say he is very pleasant to talk to and so too are all his staff.

If you have sailed on the Celebrity Eclipse please share your experiences with others in the comment box below. One of the longest cruise journeys you can take is crossing the Atlantic, and you will need to keep busy when you are spending many days at sea. You can get an insight into this journey on Vancouver Sun, where one passenger wrote a story about their experience.

We will be going on our second cruise in 2012, which will cross the Atlantic. The sea days will not be fun, but I am sure the ship will have more than enough to do.
