When it comes to cruising we all have different tastes, and also fears. Flying on an airplane is not for everyone and thanks to Southampton running many cruises that take you away to the sun without having to fly, this kind of travel can suit those that don’t want to fly/cruise.

Those that do want to fly and then cruise will be happy to know that Royal Caribbean is offering charters from Stansted, which will join Mediterranean cruises.

Cruise Critic points out that this is good news for Stansted Airport’s “6.7 million would-be cruisers”, that are found in its catchment area. This includes Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, and east/north London.

British Airways will operate this new service, which will connect you to Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas, a 137,308-ton and 3,114-passenger ship. They will run 12 seven-night cruises, and the only other cruise liner to connect passengers with the Mediterranean via Stansted is Thomson.

Do you think cruising via Stansted airport is an option for you?
