The Mediterranean in 2012 will see a new Dream-class cruise ship from Carnival Cruise Lines, which is called the Carnival Breeze. This is the third ship of its class; the two before it were the Carnival Magic and Carnival Dream. Expectations point to a Spring release for the new ship.
Carnival cruises has seen the number of UK passengers increase drastically over the last year, and their boss, Gerry Cahill, said that he’s “comfortable” with the one ship for Europe, and he feels that any more than this would not be comfortable. This is a lot less than Royal Caribbean’s 12 ships in Europe.
Carnival Breeze has some pretty smart features; highlights include an area for “adults-only” that covers two decks, the Serenity area. Nearly all ships cater for kids, and the Breeze does this well with a corkscrew waterslide found in the WaterWorks aqua park. Those that love spas will be happy to know the ship also features a massive “Cloud 9” spa.
While the Breeze is scheduled for release in Spring 2012, it’s currently under construction in Monfalcone, Italy.
Are you thinking of joining the Carnival Breeze in the Mediterranean come 2012?
